Are you a strategic sales leader with a passion for driving growth in the automotive aftermarket in sales and or marketing? Avery Dennison is seeking a Business Development Manager, Automotive DIY to spearhead profitable revenue initiatives within our Graphics North America Division. In this critical role, you'll be the primary point of contact for building strategic relationships with Automotive DIY prospects and other influential partners across the value chain.
You'll leverage your expertise to understand market needs for new and existing graphic applications, focusing on lead generation, pipeline growth, and fostering strong customer alliances. Beyond managing key accounts and growing sales with service providers, you'll be at the forefront of creating innovative services and solutions to meet unmet market needs.
What You'll Do:
- Market Strategy & Growth: Develop a deep understanding of the automotive DIY market value chain and formulate strategies to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
- Program Leadership: Identify and lead programs to expand sales for strategic initiatives within the Automotive OEM segment. This includes generating campaign ideas, conducting thorough market analyses, and leading priority commercialization efforts with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Sales, Technical, Finance, Operations, Logistics, Customer Service).
- Market Opportunity Analysis: Understand sub-segment market sizing, trends, and application opportunities for key growth areas. Conduct comprehensive Market Opportunity Analyses to align resources and prioritize strategic application areas.
- Relationship Building: Strengthen and cultivate relationships within strategically focused market channels, with an emphasis on material, platform, and design engineering.
- Technical Sales & Pricing: Provide product recommendations, technical support, and problem-solving throughout the entire value chain, primarily in automotive applications. Establish pricing programs and strategies to optimize product positioning and market share growth within the segment.
- Needs Assessment & Solutions: Uncover and assess true customer and value chain needs, then align necessary solutions to address them effectively.
- Market Intelligence: Report ongoing forecasted demand and market trends/insights, as well as any unusual fluctuations that may impact customer service and strategic direction.
- New Account Acquisition: Identify new accounts across North America using various methods including networking, digital marketing, screening techniques, referrals, and prospecting.
- Competitive Landscape: Develop a keen understanding of market conditions (current customers, potential customers, competitors) and use this insight to refine revenue strategies.
- Contract Management: Manage contracts and coordinate internal functions to ensure alignment on agreements as needed.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of divisional strategic and operating plans (e.g., AOPs, strategic plans).
- Industry Representation: Represent Avery Dennison within the Automotive Aftermarket & DIY Segment at key market and networking events.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field.
- Experience: 6+ years of commercial experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in key account management, product management, or marketing. Experience selling into the pressure-sensitive and/or automotive aftermarket industry is highly desirable.
- Strategic Acumen: Proven skills and competencies in developing sales penetration and customer growth strategies across the value chain.
- Customer Focus: A passionate pursuit of customer satisfaction, with a strong bias towards delivering value and fostering customer loyalty.
- Collaboration: A strong team player, capable of effectively engaging and collaborating with internal cross-functional resources.
- Drive & Autonomy: High energy, ambitious, and results-oriented. Able to effectively operate remotely from headquarters.
- Tech Proficiency: Strong computer skills, particularly with Google Suite and .
- Travel: Ability to travel at least 50%.
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is听$96,450 - $128,600/ year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate鈥檚 relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
