We're seeking someone to join our DNS, DHCP & IPAM Engineering team as a Principal Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to contribute to and lead a multi-year programme of consolidation and replacement of our on-premise DDI infrastructure with Infoblox, whilst also consolidating DDI infrastructure from recently acquired businesses and supporting growth into public cloud. Â

This is a Principal Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for managing and optimizing technical infrastructure and ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems to support business needs effectively.

What you'll do in the role:
- Join a team of skilled and experienced technologists tasked with transforming & maintaining our large scale, global DNS, DHCP & IPAM platforms.
- Perform complex analysis of legacy DNS & DHCP systems and formulate safe & efficient modernisation migration strategies to more strategic platforms whilst maintaining extremely high SLAs.
- Own components and infrastructure platforms on a global level, working with operational counterparts and customers to plan and execute on enhancements, extensions, and remediation in these critical components of our infrastructure.
- Lead the development of new ideas and/or policies at an inter-departmental level working with infrastructure engineers across multiple disciplines.
- Set the overall vision and strategy for cloud and infrastructure engineering across the organization.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives through innovative cloud solutions and technologies.
- Establish a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- Forge strategic partnerships with external organizations and academia to drive industry-leading innovation.
- Influence technology investment decisions and prioritize projects based on strategic goals.
- Represent the organization in high-level negotiations and engagements with industry regulators or partners.
- Advocate for diversity and inclusion within the technology function to foster a vibrant and inclusive work environment.
- Provide regular updates and insights to the C-suite and board on cloud technology trends, risks, and opportunities.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Experience with engineering large-scale enterprise DDI deployments (preferably Infoblox NIOS, but others like bind, tinydns, or ISC dhcpd)
- A firm understanding of DNS & DHCP protocols and common architectural patterns.
- Knowledge of networking concepts & protocols at all layers: TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP, SSL
- Experience of, and passion for, automating repetitive tasks related to installation, configuration or management of infrastructure using Ansible, Python, shell or other scripting/programming language with CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, or similar.
- Comfort working with a Linux-based command line & familiarity with general system administration concepts.
- Experience in executing IT strategy, delivery, and complex initiatives.
- Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to technology and business leadership.
- At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Visionary leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Expertise in developing comprehensive cloud and infrastructure frameworks and standards.
- Strong ability to collaborate with executive leadership.
- Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to represent the organization in industry forums and regulatory discussions.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in cloud and infrastructure practices.
