The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management UX team builds digital experiences that help our clients manage their finances and monitor their investments easily. We design for two key user bases: our clients, and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors, whose job is to guide clients through financial milestones big and small. The Direct and Institutional Business serves corporate and institutional clients, high-net-worth individuals, and multi-family offices, offering powerful solutions to support their complex financial needs. We are seeking an experienced VP-Level UX Designer to lead the design vision for our institutional consulting business. This individual will play a pivotal role in crafting innovative and user-centric experiences that empower financial advisors to serve institutional clients effectively.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and business stakeholders, to define and deliver scalable solutions. As a UX leader, you will also mentor team members, advocate for design best practices, and contribute to the evolution of Morgan Stanley's internal design system, Campfire.
Once Here You Will...
- Define and maintain a clear UX vision and strategy for institutional consulting platforms, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and user needs.
- Act as the primary UX partner for cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, delivery managers, and business stakeholders, ensuring a seamless, integrated user experience across the financial advisor platform.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders by demonstrating the value of design and its impact on achieving business objectives.
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to align teams on user needs, product goals, and design strategies. Effectively communicate design concepts, research findings, and strategic initiatives to senior stakeholders, including executives and business leaders.
- Drive the end-to-end design process, from initial concept to implementation, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Champion for user research as a foundational element of the design process, ensuring that user feedback and data-driven insights inform design decisions.
- Communicate design concepts and progress to senior stakeholders, gaining buy-in for UX initiatives.Design holistic solutions that integrate seamlessly into our wealth management product ecosystem
- Design and deliver responsive/adaptive solutions that are optimized for web and mobile interfaces and partner with engineers to translate designs into successful products
- Establish and advocate for best practices in user-centered design, accessibility, and usability.
- Integrate UX workflows into agile methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of team processes.
- Collaborate and share work with other fleet leads to ensure consistency of UI and experience
- Provide coaching and guidance to UX team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.
- Establish design guidelines and principles for institutional consulting products while leveraging and contributing to the Campfire design system to ensure consistency and efficiency in design execution.
Relevant Experience and Mindset:
- An outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs
- 8+ years of experience as a UX designer as a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
- Mastery of strategic, hard, and soft UX skills
- Bachelor's degree in design or related field; master’s degree is a plus
- Fluency in Figma
- You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team that you can bounce ideas off of, get critical feedback from, and unite to mature design thinking in a large organization
- You practice active listening and contribute to group situations (brainstorms, audits, critiques, whiteboard sessions, etc.)
- You have a high tolerance for projects with ambiguity and the ability to set the direction for undefined, complex projects
- You are resilient in the face of obstacles
- You have a relentless desire to validate assumptions and uncover a problems� root cause by testing, learning, and iterating
- You constantly seek opportunities to evangelize and promote design thinking in a large organization

Salary range for the position: $110k - $190k /Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus New Jersey (Statewide) **New** Effective June 1, 2025 component.
