Skills and Competencies
鈥� 聽 聽Over 10 years of experience in financial services, with a strong background in sales and marketing.
鈥� 聽 聽Bilingual proficiency: native Japanese speaker with fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
鈥� 聽 聽Strong communicator and negotiator, capable of engaging C-level executives and managing operational and administrative details.
鈥� 聽 聽Strategic thinker with a curious mindset, self-driven, and effective at translating ideas into action.
鈥� 聽 聽Deep knowledge of financial instruments, debt capital, and credit markets would be a plus.
鈥� 聽 聽Having knowledge in Sustainable Finance and ESG and familiar with financial sector and intermediaries in Japan market would be a plus.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Team-oriented, highly organized, and committed to diversity, inclusion, and collaborative stakeholder management.

Education

鈥� 聽 聽Drive business growth by delivering both quantitative and qualitative targets through effective teamwork and strategic outreach.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Identify new opportunities by leveraging a deep understanding of debt capital markets, client profiles, and issuance pipelines.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Defend Moody鈥檚 agency-of-choice position through consistent, high-quality client interactions. Lead contract negotiations with a strategic approach to maximize profitability.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Perform hands-on account management for existing clients to ensure timely and accurate operations, collaborating with associates and other internal control and support functions.
鈥� 聽 聽Independently lead high-level relationship meetings with senior decision-makers such as CFOs and Treasurers.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Spearhead market expansion in areas like sustainable finance, digital finance, private credit, high yield and any other evolving risk areas in focus.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Foster engagement with issuer clients, prospects, and intermediaries, while collaborating closely with ratings and research teams.聽

鈥� 聽 聽Contribute to internal initiatives focused on credit risk themes, operational efficiency, and business development.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Dedicate an extensive portion of time (approximately 60%) to engage clients and effectively enhance market presence.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Collaborate across APAC and global teams, mentoring junior colleagues and supporting franchise-wide outreach strategies.
鈥� 聽 聽Own a portfolio across a diverse sectors including corporate, financial, public sectors and structured finance.聽
鈥� 聽 聽Other critical output targets are customer retention, price capture. Targets segments are all potential and existing issuers - the position will need to build and nurture a strong network among intermediaries, other external stakeholders and influencers.
About the Role聽
The Vice President is an individual contributor who is responsible for the full sales lifecycle to ensure complete customer coverage and for driving business and operations with minimal supervision. The Vice President will play a pivotal role in managing the existing business, driving new business development, staying versed with various different internal policies & guidelines and building effective network with external stakeholders. This requires in-depth understanding of the debt capital markets and exceptional interpersonal communication and writing skills both in English and Japanese. 聽
