    Position Overview

    We’re looking for a Senior Director to lead the critical Cloud Infrastructure & Platforms Engineering (CIPE) team within the Enterprise Systems & Experience (ESE) division of Autodesk. Your mission is to ensure the cloud infrastructure, on-premises data centers, and core platform services that underpin enterprise and commercial business processes are operationally healthy, trusted, secure, and seamlessly integrated. You will define and drive the strategic direction for these foundational technologies, with a key focus on advancing our cloud maturity and financial efficiency. This high-impact role oversees services consumed daily by Autodesk workers and customers globally, making operational excellence and invisible infrastructure key measures of success.Ìý

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute strategic plans for cloud infrastructure and platform services, aligning with the overall business objectives. Ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutionsÌýÌý

    • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team of cloud infrastructure and platform engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support for career development and training Ìý

    • Partner with senior leaders across Autodesk to develop cohesive technology strategies, ensure alignment, and maximize impact in overlapping functional areasÌý

    • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Implement best practices for cloud infrastructure management and maintenanceÌýÌý

    • Manage the development and maintenance of platform services that support various business applications. Ensure the platforms are scalable, secure, and efficientÌýÌý

    • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality cloud infrastructure and platform services. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their infrastructure needsÌýÌý

    • Ensure cloud infrastructure and platform services comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect cloud assets and informationÌýÌý

    • Drive innovation and optimization initiatives to improve the efficiency and performance of cloud infrastructure and platform services. Explore and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance capabilitiesÌýÌý

    • Oversee the incident and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing impact on business operations. Implement proactive measures to prevent future incidentsÌýÌý

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Proficiency in major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Experience with core services like computing (e.g., AWS EC2), storage (e.g., Azure Blob Storage), and databases

    • Expertise in automation and IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation. Ability to automate the delivery and management of cloud infrastructureÌý

    • Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Experience in deploying and managing containerized applicationsÌýÌý

    • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and compliance standards. Experience with implementing security measures and ensuring regulatory complianceÌý

    • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and virtualization technologies. Experience with configuring and managing virtual networks and environmentsÌý

    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deploymentÌý

    • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, and Bash. Ability to develop automation scripts and toolsÌý

    • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack. Ability to set up and manage monitoring solutions for cloud infrastructureÌý

    • Knowledge of database management and data services. Experience with managing cloud-based databases and data storage solutionsÌý

    Salary transparency

    Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $210,800 and $341,000. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
